EXPLOSION, ON OIL RIG PLATFORM.
A huge fire has broken out after an unexpected loud explosion in an oil rig platform, at the Gulf of Mexico, located 65 miles (95km) off the coast of Texas, on Wednesday the 29th of March, 2023.
This explosion occurred on Wednesday the 29th of March, 2023 which has forced the evacuation of about 15 workers from the platform. Although some senior staff and executive engineers stayed behind to monitor the platform because of the ongoing production. The unfortunate accident left two workers dead and four deckhands sustained critical burns and others sustained critical injuries from the explosion.
The spokesman and the senior industry expert (SIE), Engineer Henrik Nedergaard of the contracting petroleum company on-site stated that one of the engines was showing minor signs of failure but it was duly fixed only for same engine to flare up leaving two workers dead, others severely injured while damaging valuable properties. US Coast Guard and federal safety officials are still trying to assess all potential hazards caused.
According to our sources, the contracting company in charge of the drilling and maintenance of the oil rig is currently under investigation with the insurance company in an attempt to uncover the actual cause of this accident which has resulted in the loss of lives, multiple injuries, casualties and damage of valuable equipment worth hundreds of thousands.
